I had my second week of school this week, back into the usual routine now so I got to experience normal American school. Each class is 80 minutes long, which I'm not really a fan of, but at least you can actually finish work in class as opposed to the hour-long classes at home. I still had a really fun week; it started off on Monday with a serious thunderstorm, which was nothing like what we get in NZ. There was lightning almost every minute and very loud thunder. I also finally got a school computer, so I can actually start doing work now. While I was in the office setting up my computer, I noticed there was a lockdown button on the wall. I'm unsure as to whether or not we have these at home, but nevertheless, it was still a bit freaky to see.

On Tuesday I was invited to another ice cream parlour with my friends. They had an event going where they would fill up your Stanley cup with 4 scoops of ice cream for only $10. It was a steal, to say the least. This was followed up by a productive trip to Target, where I got to stock up on some lollies.

On Wednesday I got to go to Costco for the first time, and let's just say that it was amazing. They literally had everything, and it was all in huge sizes. I got a 36-pack of Diet Dr Pepper and some nice sweatpants. I also got a famous Costco hot dog, which has stayed the same price ($1.50) for 40 years. After Googling, I found out that the hot dogs in Auckland's Costco cost $2, which is $1.12 USD, so our hot dogs are actually even cheaper than theirs.

On Thursday, I finally got to get frozen yogurt again. I haven't been able to get in since the shop in the mall closed almost 10 years ago. Funnily enough, this was also the day when a brand new store opened in Wellington, so even though I wasn't there, I still got to have some.

On Friday, I got Chick-fil-A for dinner, and when we got there, I saw this car that was so terribly parked I just had to include it in this.
Saturday was a very busy day. I started off in the morning with us all going to the Red River Market, A market that they hold every Saturday in the town square during the warmer months. They had live country music, then a live choir, and even an Irish band playing. It was very cool. We then came home to relax for a bit and watch the NDSU Bison play against Wyoming, whom they beat 20-0. Before going out to Kingpin for dinner. This place was like Strike bowling on steroids. They had bowling lanes, laser tag, escape rooms, a casino, restaurants, and a huge arcade. We played a round of bowling, which I happily took second place in, and then ate dinner before running wild at the arcade for an hour.

And to finish the week off, today we went to play Pickleball. The courts were in an old supermarket, which they had converted to have 15 pickleball courts, restaurant, and a beer tap wall, as well as a function room which you can rent out. It was cool to think that you were playing a game where people used to shop.
A bit of a shorter post this week, as it wasn't as hectic as last week with homecoming, but it was still really fun to see more of the city and enjoy the nice days before it starts to get freezing.
